Hello!  I am a portrait artist who works in oils to create realistic and emotive portraits of people and of animals, capturing the spirit of the individual, using distinctive techniques to enhance the emotional and personal significance of each portrait.  My work is especially popular with dog lovers, who wish to have an original, unique, and lasting celebration of their treasured companions.

It's important to me to have good communication with my clients, in order to ensure that you are absolutely happy with the portrait. At the outset we will discuss all the options for the portrait - size, backgrounds, colours, framing, etc. - and I will keep you updated regarding the progress of the portrait, including sending you an image of the portrait as it nears completion to ensure that there is nothing which you would like me to change.  This approach has led to me having many repeat clients.

I work directly from good quality clear photographs (either digital or printed).  I prefer to take the photographs myself if the subject of the portrait is within reasonable travelling distance (a small charge may be included for this service), but if not - or if it is to be a surprise gift for someone - it is very helpful to have several photographs provided.  I will then liaise with you regarding the best image on which to base the portrait.  I accept commissions from all over the world, and send portraits out by secure courier delivery.

I also accept commissions for landscape paintings, creating lasting and treasured memories of special places such as wedding venues and honeymoon locations, and also still life subjects.
